Dolphin Trainer for a Day at Dolphinaris Riviera Maya

Dolphin Trainer for a Day at Dolphinaris Riviera Maya

This is part II of my dolphin trainer for a day experience. If you need to catch up read part I of my swim with dolphins in Riviera Maya here.

After finishing the short video clip, we went back to the dolphin facility. There we had the good fortune of participating in another dolphin maneuver.

This time, it was the boogie push. Just swim to the center, and hold onto the boogie board—the dolphin does the rest! I couldn’t believe the speed I was propelled forward with.

I think I got to enjoy this one a little bit more than the foot-push. The foot-push is epic, don’t get me wrong.  I just felt like I was able to enjoy the boogie-push more because I was more familiar with what was about to happen. This helped me to relax and focus. I was able to stay more in-the-moment.

After that, we took another break back at the lounge. We watched a brief clip about the educational programs Dolphinaris coordinates. They teach local students about the repercussions of environmental pollution. They also collaborated with Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and Cornell University to help the top veterinary students in the country get a hands-on experience with sea mammals.

When we were done with the video, we were asked to bring our t-shirts with us. Apparently, the dolphins have an artistic side to them, at least according to Juan.

Using non-toxic paint, they attached a paintbrush to the dolphin’s noses. They then bobbed their head around to create what can only be described as a Jackson Pollackesque abstract expressionist masterpiece. At least I thought so, in a wow-that’s-better-than-me kind of way.

Now we went back for lunch. I ordered some delicious grilled steak, chicken, and shrimp tacos. One of each. I had an ice-cold Dos Equis as a beverage. After chatting with a family from Indiana—mom, aunt, and son—we went back to the dolphin facility.

Now was our chance to dive. They place a mask with a scuba mouthpiece and hose (the tank stays on land) and after they put on a weight belt, you sink to the bottom. There you can observe the dolphins in their own element. It takes a moment or two just to remember that you don’t need to go back up to breathe. Having never scuba-dived before, I found the whole experience to be very stimulating and novel.

They asked us to bring our towels because we were going to examine their feeding routine. We got to see how much each dolphin is fed per day. Everything is monitored. If dolphins skip a meal or even exhibit irregular behavior, it is recorded and later evaluated.

Then it was back to the dolphin facility one more time, for our last dolphin maneuver. This time, we got to try the belly ride. The dolphin would come to you, belly up, and you hang on to both pectoral fins for the ride. Teaming up with a dolphin, successfully, is a great feeling.

After we all had a try at the belly ride, Juan taught us a few hand signals. Dolphins don’t listen, per se, to humans. What they do is look for hand signals. They can even understand “gesture sentences”. Juan taught us a hand gesture that started off with our right hand, with two pointed starting off high, and finishing low. We all did that—every group. And in unison, the dolphins gave us their grand finale.

In unbelievable concert, the dolphins disappeared underwater and all jumped out from different angles. They would flip, reenter, and pop out from a different side and repeat. Their skills of synchronization and organization were truly masterful.

It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

I can now tell people I have been a “dolphin trainer for a day”. Who else can make that claim? They even gifted us an honorary “dolphin trainer diploma” to bring home as a keepsake.

If you’re looking for a once in a lifetime vacation experience, look no further than Dolphinaris Riviera Maya. It’s fun for literally everyone. There isn’t a travel attraction more universally beloved by its visitors than swimming with Dolphins in Riviera Maya.

Swim with Dolphins in Riviera Maya

Swim with Dolphins in Riviera Maya

In our last article, I provided a guide on how to get to Dolphinaris Riviera Maya. Now, let’s delve in deeper into my time as I got the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to swim with Dolphins in Riviera Maya at Dolphinaris.

After I arrived I parked my car and walked through the entrance. I was immediately greeted by a friendly staff. They welcomed me with the sort of warm and outgoing customer service that is so typical of the Riviera Maya.

They then began evaluating my itinerary. They gave me a key to a locker, towel, life-jacket and t-shirt. I was escorted to the lounge and was told we would be starting in about 15-20 minutes.

The lounge area had everything you needed to pass the time. There was a foosball, ping-pong, and air hockey table for your leisure. They had a bar and restaurant right next to the game tables. I was told my dolphin-trainer-for-a-day package included free drinks and food.  And of course, there was a private pool from which you could observe the dolphins.

I walked past the showers and put my personal items in the locker. I couldn’t believe my luck. I was finally going to swim with dolphins in Riviera Maya.

We were broken into a group of seven with one trainer leading the way. He walked us to the dolphin facility and explained some ground rules. It was then time to enter the water. The dolphin facility was larger than I expected. There seemed to be so many dolphins swimming around freely, jumping, playing with a ball and communicating.

It is a surreal moment when you enter the water with them. You’re excited, eager, and curious. You’re not anxious, the way you would be if there were sharks, but you are aware and respectful of the fact you are entering someone’s home.

And that someone is special and sentient.

In our last article, we mentioned how the latest scientific studies have confirmed the presence of “Von Economo neurons” in dolphin brains. These specialized neurons are responsible for “emotions, social cognition and even theory of mind—the ability to sense what others are thinking”.

Once in the water, Juan, our dolphin trainer introduced us to his dolphin. He said “his dolphin” because each trainer only works with one dolphin, for the most part. This helps form a strong cohesive bond with each trainer, he explained. He gave us a brief breakdown of their size and diet.

On average, dolphins weigh about 440 to 550 lbs. will eat between 2 lbs. to 55 lbs. of fish every day, said Juan. They eat a two different kinds of fish and squids. One fish is for nutritional value, the other is more fatty and delicious. You can guess which the dolphins prefer.

The squid, as I was surprised to learn is part of their diet, for hydration, not caloric intake. As Juan taught us, dolphins do not drink water. They live in salty, saline ocean water. That means they have to extract hydration from food.

Juan also commented that dolphins live about 20-25 years older in captivity than they do in the wild. However, he admitted, some of that had to do with human-caused pollution and environmental destruction. The rest had to do with the fact that they had a guaranteed steady stream of a well-balanced diet. They also had regular access to veterinary physicians and medicine. And finally, they had protection against any predators.

After hearing my name called, I realized it was my turn for the highly anticipated foot push! I was instructed to swim to the middle of the swimming area. Then lay stomach down, with toes pointing downwards. The toes were the key as the dolphins would, after receiving a visual hand signal from Juan, push their bottlenose against your foot and propel you forward, and upward. What an exhilarating feeling it is to work in tandem with a dolphin to perform, what looks like a circus trick—all on the first try too!

After everyone got a chance at the foot-push we went back to the lounge. There we watched a brief documentary that detailed their dolphin conservation efforts with Universidad Autónoma del Carmen. They were able to perform a health evaluation at Campeche, Mexico, where a dense population of bottlenose dolphins. I was impressed with their commitment to conservation goes beyond just talking about it. They actually take an active role.

How to Get to Dolphinaris Riviera Maya

How to Get to Dolphinaris Riviera Maya

Wow. I just had an amazing time as a dolphin trainer for a day at Dolphinaris Riviera Maya. It was a truly magical experience. We got to spend a lot of time with these marvelous dolphins. I’m going to take you through my day, from start to finish. You’ll get detailed play-by-play in a moment.

But first, let’s talk about how to get to Dolphinaris Riviera Maya.

The Riviera Maya is so much more than just Cancun. Playa del Carmen, Akumal, Puerto Aventuras and Tulum offer a wealth of distinct opportunities for world travelers. There are so many different activities, all at great prices. But when you want a surefire memory of a lifetime, you come to Dolphinaris.

How to get to Dolphinaris Riviera Maya:

First off, if you are staying at the following hotels, you’re in luck. Dolphinaris offers roundtrip transportation from your hotel:

If you prefer to take matters into your own hands, here are some more specific directions.

So, if you are in Playa del Carmen, head south on the main (and only) highway. About 20-25 minutes later (about 15 miles) you should see Dolphinaris on the right-hand side. Pull in, park, and get ready for an enchanting day of memories.

What if you’re coming from Akumal?

Even shorter. Except this time, you’ll be heading north for about 15 minutes (12 miles) and you should see on your left-hand side. Again, there is only one highway, so that should simplify things.

If you’re coming from Tulum?

Same as Akumal, except a bit longer. Head north for about 45 minutes (25 miles) and it will be on your left.

If you’re coming from Puerto Aventuras?

You’re in luck. You’re practically there. Hop in a car and head north for a couple of miles. Look for it on your left.

Swimming with dolphins in the Riviera Maya is unlike anything you’ve experienced before. You get to spend time with a sea mammal whose intelligence is second only to ours. The latest studies have detected the presence of “Von Economo neurons” in dolphin brains. Those specialized neurons are associated with emotions, social cognition and even “theory of mind—the ability to sense what others are thinking”.

When you encounter a dolphin, face to face, you understand something special is taking place. Something you’ve never experienced before. To share that unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience with your partner, children or friends only makes an incredible memory that much more amazing.

We hope our guide helps you with the question “how to get to Dolphinaris Riviera Maya”. If all else fails, there’s always Dolphinaris via Google maps.

Stay tuned for our next article, where I detail my time as “dolphin trainer for a day” at Dolphinaris Riviera Maya.

Dolphinaris Cares about Sustainability

Dolphinaris Cares about Sustainability

Dolphinaris is home to the world’s best dolphinariums. When you want to swim with dolphins in Cancun, there’s only one place serious travelers consider, and it’s Dolphinaris.

Well, for starters, at Dolphinaris you will find a friendly, well-educated staff that truly care about their marvelous dolphins. They ensure your time with the dolphins will be informed and intimate so it can be cherished forever.

But that doesn’t paint the full picture. It’s actually much deeper and profound than just that.

To get a clearer answer to that question, let’s look at a few reasons why travelers believe Dolphinaris is the world’s best dolphinarium.

Dolphinaris Cares about Community

The warmth and friendliness you experience at Dolphinaris isn’t just a personality trait every staff member embodies; it is the ethos by which Dolphinaris operates. It defines their corporate culture.

For example, Dolphinaris has an educational program that brings elementary school students from the surrounding communities to the facility. There they are taught principles of sustainability by our environmental guides. We are blessed with the opportunity to instruct the youngest members of our society principles that will have positive effects later on in life.

But our educational reach extends beyond our immediate community. Dolphinaris is proud and honored to participate in environmental education on a global platform.

Students and professors from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi collaborate annually with Dolphinaris. Veterinary students can learn about dolphins in an exciting and hands-on manner, while learning which conservational practices yield the best results. Extraordinary educational programs like these, provide greater scholastic impact for the students, long term.

Another example is Cornell University’s AQUAVET III program. Every year the best veterinary students in the nation attend a 5-week educational seminar. Each round progresses into a different city with fewer participants. Until finally, when only 8 students remain, they travel to the grand finale in Cancun, Mexico, hosted by Dolphinaris.

This ivy-league course gives students time to use diagnostic instruments for ultrasound and endoscopy. They also cover breeding, feeding, and caring for the dolphin’s environment. Dolphinaris was selected among many other global participants to serve as the only host of the final phase of this remarkable educational program.

Dolphinaris is helping to inform society—at a communal and global level—which human behavior needs to improve in order to create a sustainable environment where wonderful sea mammals like dolphins can thrive.

Dolphinaris Cares about Planet Earth

In 2015 Dolphinaris joined forces with Universidad Autónoma del Carmen to sponsor a conservation project in Laguna de Terminos, located in Campeche, Mexico. This lagoon features a unique ecosystem that is abundant in natural resources. Several rivers merge to form a confluence of resources, allowing bottlenose dolphins and others to thrive there. In fact, that area has among the highest concentration in dolphins in all of Mexico.

By collecting biological samples from dolphins, we were able to infer the overall health status of the ecosystem.

Dolphinaris leads the way

First, we introduced—as far as our circle of influence permits us—new ways of looking at the world to people of all ages, from local elementary students to the brightest young adults on the planet looking to become veterinarians. We hope our seeds of education will bear fruits of environmental awareness and sustainable practices with future generations.

Then, equally as important if not more, we walk the walk. We go straight to the dolphins and help them directly in their natural environment. Dolphinaris is home to the world’s best dolphinariums because we care. We care about our planet. We care about our local and global community. And of course, we care about our treasured dolphins.

For Dolphinaris, a more sustainable future starts today.

Help Save the Planet with Selvatica Seed of Life Program

Help Save the Planet with Selvatica Seed of Life Program

Our planet is in environmental trouble. But it wasn’t always like this. So the questions become, how did this happen?  Is there something we can do about it?

Let’s give you a very brief history of how our planet’s sustainability became threatened.

It’s actually very simple and straightforward. In 1800 we had only one billion people on the planet. At that time, the Earth was able to regenerate its biosphere quicker than we, as one billion people, were able to extract its natural resources.

But then, we invented a revolution that would help us extract more resources than ever before.

Enter: The Industrial Revolution.

Our productivity skyrocketed after the industrial revolution. People moved from the country to for what we now call a modern city. More people, in a denser space, led to a population increase.

By 1920 our population had doubled, from one billion to two billion. Think about that. It took us ALL of humanity to reach one billion. And then, boom. Just like that, in a blink of an eye, historically speaking, we doubled. Did the earth’s resources double? Obviously not.

But things are just getting started. From 1920 to 1960, our population grew by ANOTHER billion. First billion took our entire existence. The second billion spanned 120 years. Third billion took just 40 years. Again, did the Earth’s resources grow at the same rate? Sadly, not.

The fourth billion happened only 30 years later in 1970. The fifth billion in 1980. The sixth billion in the year 2000. Today we stand at the precipice of 7 billion people on the planet.

To recap, in 220 years our population has grown by 600%, while our planet’s resources have sharply declined.

Think about it this way. Imagine you are hungry and decide to order some pizza. You, being alone, order a personal pan pizza. It arrives and it is enough to satisfy your hunger. Then, the next day, six of your friends show up. All of a sudden, that pizza that was enough for one person, is far from enough for all seven of you.

So what’s the solution? Well, the solution is as simple and straightforward as the problem. If you can, bake more pizza right?

How do we apply that logic to planet earth? It’s easy. We need to curb deforestation by planting more trees. If we are part of the problem, we can become part of the solution.

People tend to dismiss the dangers of deforestation as hippy nonsense. What harm would a few chopped down trees actually do to the planet, those critics argue.

Actually, it’s more than ‘a few’. The real number is closer to 18 million acres of forest per year. That’s one and a half acres every SECOND! Put it another way, that’s 20 football fields every minute. However way you break it down, it’s staggering and alarming.

I can hear critics saying “so what? They’re just trees!?”.

Well, 28,000 species are predicted to become extinct in the next 25 years due to deforestation. We tend to forget how many species call the forest their home.

Still not convinced? How about this: 121 natural remedies which are then converted into modern medicine can be found in forests—and this number is increasing every year. What if the cure for cancer is out there somewhere, and we end up chopping it down to extinction before we even discover its therapeutic properties?

And the last, and perhaps most important reason to help fight against deforestation is climate change. It doesn’t matter which side of the debate you fall in. Whether you think climate change happened naturally or was caused by human activity—the undeniable, irrefutable truth is, more trees help reduce the effects of climate change.

Trees give us cleaner oxygen to breathe. They provide shelter for thousands of species. They provide us with life-saving medicine.

Just don’t forget. The solution is as simple as the problem. If we are cutting too many trees for the earth to regenerate naturally, we have to help plant trees. But who will lead the battle?

Do not despair.

Enter: Selvatica

Selvatica, the number one outdoor adventure park in Latin America is leading the charge. Selvatica has a social commitment program called “Seed of Life”. It’s simple. We put a tree seed in an expired Selvatica helmet. Then we plant that helmet into the ground and let nature take care of the rest.

What started out as a simple project has ballooned into a major movement. Today, Selvatica’s “seed of life” tree-planting program has planted over 300,000 oxygen-releasing trees! That has shrunk the carbon footprint by an eye-popping 7.8 million tons!

You see it’s all about the circle of life. First, our helmet protects our most precious resource, our brain. Then, after the helmet expires, it helps protect Mother Nature’s most precious resource, our forests.

We want to show our travelers that, if we team up together, we can help save the planet.
Join the Selvatica tribe. Help us fight the good fight. Our planet is in danger and needs our help.

Come to Selvatica and have an unforgettable day of outdoor adventure tours…then become part of the solution by participating in our “seed of life” program and help save the planet.

A Talk with the director of Selvatica –Cancun’s best outdoor adventure park

A Talk with the director of Selvatica –Cancun’s best outdoor adventure park

Selvatica is Latin America’s number one outdoor adventure park. It features an array of adrenaline pumping activities in the heart of the Mayan jungle. You can soar above the jungle canopy on their world famous face-first, superman zipline. You can conquer the jungle’s muddy terrain with a tough and world class Polaris ATV. If you’re feeling bold enough, you can take a wild bungee swing off a tall tree.

Think you’re agile? Find out on their hanging aerial bridges. Then top everything off with a marvelous and refreshing swim in gorgeous crystalline cenote—equipped with a zipline that finishes right in the cenote’s center!

It’s no surprise that Selvatica has consistently ranked as Trip Advisor’s best outdoor adventure park in Cancun.

Beyond the astonishing adrenaline-coursing activities, there is a friendly and welcoming staff that takes care of your every need. Let’s have a look at the brief chat I had with Selvatica’s Director, Fernanda Cardenas:

Some people get excited, but at the same time, nervous about outdoor adventure activities.

What sort of advantage does Selvatica have, by having more experience than any other outdoor adventure park in the Riviera Maya that could put those people’s minds at ease?

We have over two decades of experience in the outdoor adventure industry. We know how to prepare for every situation because we’ve seen it all. Our travelers can be absolutely sure that when they’re in Selvatica, they’re in safe hands. We leave nothing to chance. Our safety record is of paramount importance to us and we spare no expense when it comes to ensuring our traveler’s well-being.

What does a tour company have to do to be associated with the Association for Challenge Course Technology?

They basically check to see all of our equipment is up to par, both in quality and age. It’s important to know what condition all of your equipment is, and then cataloging that information so you can monitor its degradation in order to replace it at the appropriate time.

There are thousands of travelers rating you a perfect 5 stars on Trip Advisor. And in their comments, they always mention that your crew is so welcoming, kind, and entertaining to be around. It appears your customer service is just as exceptional as your outdoor adventures are entertaining.

How do you know if a potential employee is a proper fit for Selvatica before you hire them?

Thank you, we take pride in our staff. We’re a close-knit group. We’re like a big family. We call ourselves a tribe. And that’s the experience we want our travelers to have. We want them to feel like family when they’re at Selvatica. We want them to become part of the tribe.

Our staff is actually our secret weapon. We put more focus on having a sociable and cohesive staff than any other tour company out there…and it shows.

Since we break everyone into groups, our group leaders have the opportunity to get everyone in the right mind frame before their activity. If you’re excited, they pump you up even more. If you’re nervous, they calm you down and get you ready.

That said, we don’t select our employees like regular companies do. We’re not obsessed with CV/resumes. Of course, we’ll review it, but what’s more important to us, is how well you fit in our group. How do you interact with people? We can train you to manage every activity. But we can’t train you to be sociable. Since a warm and friendly experience is crucial to the Selvatica experience, we focus there when hiring.

You have some very interesting social commitment programs at Selvatica. Can you explain them?

Sure, we’re honored to be in such a fortunate position that we are able to give back to those who aren’t as fortunate.

Take for example our “Manos de Apoyo”(Helping Hands) program. We provide former juvenile gang members with a new path in their lives through sports. We donate sporting equipment and provide coaches. These kids simply didn’t have a choice before. They felt like gang-life was the only life they were capable of. Having something else to live for, like sports, can be a huge motivation in their lives. To know that we are changing the lives of hundreds of less fortunate youths is very humbling.

We also have our ‘seed of life’ program. We combat deforestation by planting a tree seed in an old Selvatica helmet. Our ‘seed of life’ program has actually been a tremendous success. We’ve planted over 300,000 trees and reduced our carbon footprint by 7.8 million tons!

The way we look at it, it’s only fair. We’ve come into Mother Nature’s jungle and made our home there. In return, we’ve done everything to honor Mother Nature by replanting as many trees as we can.

We invite anyone out there, to come to Selvatica and join the tribe. Have an unforgettable time with your friends and family, and then give back to the planet that allowed it to happen. We hope to see you soon!

How to get to Selvatica

How to get to Selvatica

So you’ve decided you want to go on an outdoor extreme adventure in Cancun.

Then, after typing in ‘extreme outdoor adventure’ in Trip Advisor, you realize Selvatica has thousands of perfect 5 out of 5 stars. Everyone is talking about how crazy and fun all of their attractions are.

They have insane ziplines, crazy bungee swings, a badass Polaris ATV, and a tantalizing cenote equipped with its own zipline and a 20-yard ledge to jump off of. Not only that, but everyone mentions how welcoming and personable the staff is.  Great tours. Great staff.

They must be doing something right.

Most Experience in Cancun

So then you check their website. You learn that they have more experience—over two decades—than any other outdoor adventure park in the Riviera Maya. This isn’t their first rodeo. They know what they’re doing. And based on the fact that they have been Trip Advisor’s number one outdoor activity for 5 consecutive years is further proof that they REALLY know what they’re doing.

So it’s settled. When people come to Cancun for the best outdoor adventure, they come to Selvatica.

So now you go to and save 10% by booking online. Everything is in order. One last time issue.

How do get to Selvatica?

Not to worry. We will get you there, no matter where your starting point is or method of transit.

Let’s start with the simplest way to get to Selvatica. When making your reservation, indicate that you need a shuttle ride. Verify with Selvatica firsthand to ensure they cover your hotel. If not, special arrangements can be made.

Take a Shuttle

The shuttle they use is small, yet roomy. The idea is to not cram a bunch of people in a gigantic bus. Why so? Because that would take forever to fill, and the transit time would be excruciating. Our shuttles are strategically small for smart reasons. More comfort, and less transit time.

One thing to remember is to bring a bag filled with a change of clothes and shoes (or sandals in case your sneakers get wet), a towel, and—believe it or not—a sweater! Even though it’s counterintuitive to bring a sweater in steamy Cancun, you have to remember the shuttles can’t drive around in this heat without blasting the AC. Be prepared. Bring a small blanket or sweater to keep warm.

Also, if you’re traveling early and let’s face it, you may have a slight hangover, use this transit time to take a nap! Think about it. The last stop is Selvatica, so there’s no way over ‘oversleeping’. You’ll feel fresh and ready to tackle all the adventures Selvatica can throw at you. And believe me, there will be many.

Drive yourself

But let’s say you’re a do-it-your-selfer. You’re the type that never sits shotgun. You want to be in the captain’s seat and be fully in control. Well, that way has served you well so far in life, so why not continue?

Well, guess what? You’re in luck. Google Maps has made things MUCH easier for you. Just in case you can’t use it, though, let’s give you some easy-to-follow directions.

If you’re coming from Cancun or Playa del Carmen, plan for about a 45-minute drive. If you’re in Tulum it’s going to be an hour and 45 minutes. If you’re in Puerto Morelos, you’re lucky. You’re only 15 minutes away.

If you’re coming from Cancun drive south. If you’re coming from Tulum or Playa del Carmen, drive north. If you’re coming from Puerto Morelos, you’ll simply drive west.

From Cancun

When coming from Cancun, right before you cross Puerto Morelos, you’ll see a sign on your right for Selvatica that says 500 meters. Slow down and pay attention to the right-hand side.  After 500 meters, turn right. You’ll travel down that road for approximately 15 minutes before you see a large Selvatica sign on the right. Drive for about 90 seconds, and you’ll see a parking lot on your right. About 30 seconds past the parking is the entrance. Congratulations, you have arrived.

From Playa del Carmen/Tulum/Akumal

If you’re driving from Playa del Carmen, Tulum or Akumal, once you pass Puerto Morelos, make the first u-turn available. If you’re coming from Puerto Morelos, drive towards Cancun for about 30 seconds then make your first available u-turn. Then follow the instructions above.

Google Maps

Remember, Google Maps is your friend. If you have internet or location access, use it. Better yet, print out Google Map directions beforehand. Better safe than sorry.

Whether you drive or you allow our shuttle to get you there, when someone asks “how to get to Selvatica”, tell them ‘Don’t worry…I got this’.

Good luck and be prepared to have the time of your life at the best outdoor adventure park in Latin America!

How to Celebrate Father’s Day in Cancun

Father’s Day in Cancun

What is the best way to celebrate Father’s Day in Cancun? To answer that properly, we have to ask, what Dad wants? Well, he certainly doesn’t want the family bickering over where to go. You can do that at home—and for a lot less money.

So what makes him happy? The answer, of course, is to see his family having an unforgettable day of fun on their Cancun vacation.

And where is a surefire place to have a truly memorable vacation experience in Cancun? That place is Ventura Park. The magic behind Ventura Park is its many worlds of fun. Finding one place, that has fun for everyone in your family can be a difficult endeavor. Not at Ventura Park. Not when you have so many entertainment selections to choose from.

Let’s travel inside Ventura Park and examine each amusement world they house.

There’s nothing better than bumper cars. Scratch that. There’s nothing better than bumper-cars equipped with laser-tag shooters. That’s right, we have Laser Tanks. We attached lasers to an already super-fun activity. Just don’t get shot—or you’ll be going to for a spin!

Its no secret that Star Wars is back! But why pretend with a movie? Become part of the action at our very own Star Wars Battle Pod. Step inside the pod, and close the door behind you. Get ready for an immersive experience. Grab the controls and race your pod. But be careful, because not everyone will be happy to see you finish first!

Try our Dolphin Swim and Ride Program. Meet and greet the dolphins. Shake their fin. Receive a dolphin kiss. Put on a mask and see how the dolphins swim underwater.
